I'm very happy to say that "nosebleeds" will have its premeire at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival in August. Palm Springs is the largest short fest in the US and one of the most prestigious short fests in the world. Details about the screening to come soon.
With that announcement, I'll be making a much improved version of this site soon, as well as individual sites for all of my new work.

"The Hesher" screened at Film Arts Foundation in SF about two weeks ago. I hear it continues to induce squirms,
uncomfortable tittering and scattered walkouts. Still got it.

Cinematheque has wrapped up. Thanks to all students for putting up with me and my taste in disturbing films.

Principal photography for "Storm Tiger Mountain" has finished! Thank you so much to everyone involved,
especially Ms. Maria Judice, without whom this project would have completely tanked. This is by far the
most excited I've ever been about a project!

Auditions for my thesis film "Storm Tiger Mountain" have been going well. I've met a lot of incredible kids
in the last three weeks, and choosing is going to be difficult. It's unbelievably exciting to meet people and
visualize them in the film. I'm working hard to produce what I hope to be a defining film for me,

I have been chosen to be the curator of CalArts' Cinematheque class for Fall 2007. I am very excited
about this opportunity, and can't wait for some of the screenings. I have chosen some very difficult
and controversial work, some of it incredibly low-brow, some of it ridiculously high-brow. The unspoken
themes of the class are representation and offense, two issues which I am very concerned with in my own

Revisiting some of these films recently, I realize that I have lost something by attending film school.
I guess this is my attempt to get some of it back.

After a long struggle with editing, my narrative short "nosebleeds" is finally picture-locked and awaiting
